Overview
On Ko Kut you'll find beaches mostly along the western side, at Hat Tapho, Hat Khlong Chao and Hat Khlong Yai Ki. The water off some of these beaches is the most amazing shade of turquoise. A dirt road runs between Ban Khlong Hin Dam, the island's main village on the west coast, and Ao Salat, along the northeastern shore. Other villages on the island include Ban Ta Poi, Bang Ao Salat, Ban Laem Kluai, Bang Khlong Prao and Ban Lak Uan. Nam Tok Tan Sanuk and Khlong Chao offer inland water diversions. The nearby small islands of Ko Rang and Ko Rayang have good coral in spots. Ko Kut can be reached from Khlong Yai on the mainland or from Ko Mak. ...

In recent years, Ko Kut has experienced a small flurry of development, including the construction of a high-end resort on the island's northwestern coast. Soneva Kiri, the new luxury property by Six Senses, has even built its own private airstrip for shuttling passengers between Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi and the island. Nonetheless, much of the island retains a sleepy, undiscovered feel.
