In winter, when a deep blanket of snow and ice covers Temagami, hardy vacationers enjoy some of the province’s best cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing – along groomed trails or bushwhacking through the pristine wilderness. Dog-sledding packages are especially popular with families, while ice fishing brings another type of winter aficionado. In addition, Temagami’s many miles of groomed trails attract eager snowmobilers from late December to late March. The municipality of Temagami offers all basic services, and an assortment of resorts, camps, outfitters and rental cottages meet most budgets.
