But there's also the sprawling wilderness of the Canadian Shield along with a wealth of small towns and villages, lakes and streams, fields and woodlands that will appeal to the nature lover both in winter for cross country skiing and dogsledding and in non-snow seasons for fishing, hiking, bike trails, and kayaking and canoeing. Many of Ontario's nearly 300 provincial parks and nearly all its national parks offer camping facilities, including RV hook-ups. Since the province of Ontario has shorelines on four of the five Great Lakes, including Lake Ontario, there are plenty of beaches and sailing opportunities as well. In Ottawa, the National Gallery of Canada is the country's premier art museum, and children will enjoy the hands-on exhibits at the National Museum of Science and Technology. Toronto's landmark CN Tower offers spectacular vistas from 1,122 feet above the ground. And Ontario's most famous natural wonder is Niagara Falls.
