The Instituto Allende is another educational institution set in a historic building. Many visitors come to the town to study art, Spanish language, dance and more. San Miguel is a rich town with a good infrastructure and has an intriguing mixture of international residents as well as a local populace that love to celebrate life. Fiestas are frequent and fabulous. San Miguel's wealth is reflected in its fancy shops, elegant restaurants serving international cuisines and its burgeoning luxury B&B's. However, interspersed with this scene are food and artesan markets and local-style eateries.
