The Sterling and Francine Clark Institute is one of the premier museums in Massachusetts, housing thousands of works centered on European and American painting, sculpture, drawings, prints and decorative art. Its Impressionist collection is particularly notable. The location of the town provides easy access to cultural opportunities in neighboring towns as well. The Rural Lands Foundation at Sheep Hill provides a nature center and hiking and cross-country skiing facilities.
