Overview

Berlin was a mining town in the late 1800s and early 20th Century. Meandering through the its ruins — preserved in a state of decay — and visiting the Diana Mine (tours are offered) are good reasons for visiting the area. But that isn't the park's claim to fame. More than 225 million years ago, all sorts of ancient marine reptiles swam in the warm ocean that covered central Nevada. Their remains are displayed in the park's world-famous Fossil House. A nature trail connects the campground to the museum, where guided tours are offered from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The park lies 23 miles east of the little town of Gabbs on State Route 844. ...
