Culture is a large part of the area’s appeal, with the Capitol Center for the Arts’ year round performances of opera, music, and theater. Winter activities can be found nearby at one of two local ski areas: Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford and Pats Peak in Henniker. Both offer ski and snowboard rentals and activities for the whole family. Concord also offers a nice variety of restaurants, especially traditional Indian cuisine. When planning your trip, be aware of major area events like Laconia’s annual motorcycle week and NASCAR weekends at Loudon Speedway which cause serious traffic delays.
