Resorts like The Concord and Grossingers are long gone, but the legacy of the likes of Jerry Lewis and the movie Dirty Dancing lives on. Monticello continues to attract vacationers to the harness racing at Monticello Raceway, to crafts and music festivals, to the sweeping mountain vistas and a long list of golf clubs and restored Victorian homes that have been turned into charming bed and breakfast inns. And just outside town is Max Yasgur's farm, site of the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival. The stretch of the Delaware River just north and south of Monticello is favored by kayak and canoe enthusiasts for its rapids and eddies, and there are rental outfitters and campsites throughout the area, and some of the best trout streams in the Northeast.
