Overview
Park City is a little different than the rest of Utah, and it's always been that way. It was founded by miners rather than religious seekers, and it's easy to imagine the Main Street gulch lined with Old West bars and brothels. Nowadays, Main Street is still a reliable place to get a drink, but it's an even better place to get a facial, shop for Western-style furnishings, or meet the local real estate agents. Although PC built its reputation as a ski destination, the three local resorts keep summertime visitors plenty active. Park City Mountain Resort, just uphill from Main St., has a full program of activities such as zipline rides, an alpine slide, and lift-assisted mountain biking and hiking. The scene is a little more restrained at Deer Valley and The Canyons, where the focus is on biking, hiking, and disc golf. However, right next door to The Canyons, visitors to the Utah Olympic Park can ride 70 mph on a bobsled. During the summer, bicyclists will find plenty of trails aside from those at the resorts; PC is a great place for both road and mountain biking.
