Overview
Although best known to skiers and boarders, Vermont’s biggest ski resort is filled in the summer with condo-owning families who enjoy its four-season sports facilities. The K-1 Gondola ascends 4,241-foot Killington Peak for views of five surrounding states and Canada. Although best known to skiers and boarders, Vermont’s biggest ski resort is filled in the summer with condo-owning families who enjoy its four-season sports facilities. The K-1 Gondola ascends 4,241-foot Killington Peak for views of five surrounding states and Canada. From there, 45 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails lead to more views of central Vermont's Green Mountains. An 18-hole, par-72 golf course designed by Geoffrey Cornish takes advantage of the mountain terrain of rushing streams and elevation changes to make an exciting and strategic game. At the end of an active day, Killington Grand Spa offers signature treatments using local maple syrup, flowers and honey. A lively schedule of festivals includes Killington Music Festival, Brewfest, a wine festival and Septemberfest. Pico Adventure Center, on adjacent Pico Peak has climbing walls and an alpine slide. Historic sites abound in the region: President Calvin Coolidge’s birthplace is now a working farm museum, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park is close by and just over the spine of the Green Mountains is the heart of Vermont’s marble country and a Revolutionary battlefield at Hubbardton.
